From my vantage point at the end of the first two days of school, it appears we are off to a fantastic start! I so appreciate your patience and support as we continue working toward the well-oiled machine that we strive for. There are countless complexities that surface when our 500-plus students arrive. Please know that we all are working to create the best school experience for your student.
Our greatest complexity this year has been the tremendous influx of students. Since the class lists were distributed in June, we have added over 70 students to our six grade levels! Unfortunately, we are not able to distribute them evenly, and that results in pockets of large class sizes. This year those large classes are in Kindergarten and 3rd grade.
Because enrollment numbers can fluctuate at the beginning of the school year, the reasonable and responsible action is to carefully monitor enrollment and attendance until the 10th day of school. At that time we will evaluate the staffing needs across the school district, and make necessary changes.
Thank you for your patience each afternoon when students are dismissed. Our pick-up procedure has been remarkably smooth. Particularly considering the road construction and the number of families new to our parking lot. Before the snow flies, I expect to see some significant changes to our driveway and Bluebird lane.
Your concerns are important to me. Please know that I can be reached at 435-645-5670, and at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you prefer, my door is open to drop in each Tuesday morning before 8:30.
I hope your student is raving this weekend about how much fun school is. I wish you a wonderful weekend.
